Thanks to a good friend Sandi, I received this disturbing info this morning. Not entirely surprising since most of these are liberal denominations and have veered far from Biblical Christianity.
Obama, Schumer and other extreme liberals are pushing for total amnesty for ILLEGAL aliens..
The NAE (National Associaltion of Evangelicals) is unanimously and in a loud voice in support of amnesty for 15-20 million illegals. I presume we can believe the President of the NAE when he made his statement.
I quote from the article at NumnersUSA.com
Check and see if your denomination is included.

Leaders of most of the nation’s evangelical Christians made a shocking endorsement of illegal-alien amnesty today in Senate testimony.
Their spokesman — the head of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) — said high immigration is increasing membership in evangelical churches and is good for the economy.
Polls have shown that evangelical Christians in the pews are the MOST likely to OPPOSE amnesty. If you are one of them, you may want to contact your church leaders immediately.
The NAE phone number is: 202-789-1011 — Fax number is 202-842-0392
The NAE email address is: executivedirector@nae.net and govaffairs@nae.net
Please be respectful and thoughtful in your comments to the NAE. I would suggest that only evangelical Christians make the contacts.
NATIONAL EVANGELICALS PRESIDENT SAYS PRO-AMNESTY SUPPORT WAS UNANIMOUS
Rev. Leith Anderson, president of the NAE, was invited by Sen. Schumer (D-N.Y.) to testify in favor of the Senate immigration chairman’s push to create amnesty legislation this fall.
Sen. Schumer asked Rev. Anderson if many of his colleagues agree with his support for legalizing 12-20 million illegal aliens and increasing the legal immigration far higher than the 1 million a year current level (the two key components of “comprehensive immigration reform”).
Rev. Anderson answered that there was no dissent in adopting the pro-amnesty resolution on the 75-member NAE board of directors.
ZERO dissent!

I wonder if this was a true statement by Rev. Anderson, or if he made a statement that he really couldn’t back up. I’ve attended churches of several of these denominations, and I’ve interacted with more, and I can confidently say that those I have worshiped with and served with wholeheartedly agree that;
We are all sinners, Jesus is God, He came to earth as God incarnate, He lived a sinless life, and Died the atoning death for our sins, that He has risen to Life and mediates on our behalf at the right hand of the Father, and that we are saved by grace through faith alone.
I’m also curious as to what the bible says about immigration. The passages that stand out to me are the ones that speak of the Foreigner being welcomed into Israel for the glory of God. I know there are others that speak of the foreigner being a curse, and leading the people astray. But how do we reconcile the two in a situation where we are not Israel?
So I’m just wondering in what way those that are supportive of blanket amnesty are being unbiblical?
Also, Praying you and grandma are doing well. thank you for your ministry to so many. Stay close to Him and never give up the courage He has given you.
In Him,
Jared

Thanks Jared,
Illegal immigration is illegal – against the law.
Believers in Christ should never support those who break the law.. (illegal immigration). Share Christ with them but not coddle them. We should support the law of the land.. We should also support legal immigration as good citizens.
When Government wishes to shut our Gospel witness then we obey God and not man.
Doubtless there are individuals in the NAE who might not agree with their denomination.. then it is time to separate from the unclean.
KJV 2 Cointhians 6:17
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
Grandma and I are well — and she is looking forward to visiting family in MI. However, she might freeze — as she is a sweet hot-house plant now after over six years in sub-tropical Florida.

Jack,
I agree that Illegal immigration needs to be addressed in a way that doesn’t simply throw out the law for the sake of being liked. If every law was treated this way then we would have an anarchic state.
But I would argue that this is a secondary issue that needs exhortation not excommunication. It is possible to love the God of the Bible, to worship Jesus as Lord, and to be immature in this area.
MI is getting colder… I had to scrape my car off when I was on my way to church on Sunday.
In Christ,
Jared

So you understand, I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you about the illegals that have crossed our borders. I’ve wrestle with this issue myself. What responsibility do I have as a christian and does it clash with my duties expected of me and an American citizen.
Lets take it to the end, we don’t grant amnesty, what then. What do we with the illegal aliens here in the United States already. What about those that are STILL coming across our borders now? This has been a hot topic for MANY many years now, and what has been done?
It’s obvious that neither the republicans NOR the democrats want to deal with the issue of securing our borders. There was a time when the Republicans had the majority vote and yet, they did nothing either. And there have been many republicans that have bantered about the amnesty issue, so, it’s not just the democrats.
How do we go about deporting millions of illegal aliens (who knows what the REAL numbers are) when we haven’t got the police force nor the border guards numbers to handle the process. All of these illegals, even if they ARE caught ,will be processed through our court system. A system that is already overloaded with existing cases without adding more.
How do we pay for it all, when, we’re nearly bankrupt as a nation?
You see, it’s easy to point out a problem but, it’s another thing to have a workable solution. I certainly haven’t got the answers. I don’t see any of our politicians with the answers and includes BOTH sides of the isles. Nor do I see any of them with the backbone to deal with the tough issues.

Scotty,
Thanks for your interesting observations.
I believe we as Believers in Jesus Christ have the duty NOT to help or encourage illegals break our laws but to share Christ with them and return them to the authorities for immediate deportation.
We should not ignore the law or aid and abet illegals simply because there is insufficient enforcement or we are torn by misplaced “compassion.”
You are right.. Politicians on both sides sit on their hands or even encourage illegals for political reasons.
Politicians are pandering for the votes of 12 to 15 million illegals IF they can overturn or change the law that would make illegal alien lawbreakers legal. That is an electoral gold mine to them.
We need Patriots in Congress with the intestinal fortitude to stand for and enforce the law, fight against those who would change the law then prosecute and return lawbreakers to their home country. We must build and encourage LEGAL immigration for a safe and sane Republic.
But, after all, politics is a rotten business. Been there years ago — saw it then and see it now — even worse!
In Jesus Christ eternally,

When I made mention of the struggle I have it isn‘t if amnesty should be granted or not, it is more along the lines of a quote I read by Shane Claiborne. Albeit I don’t agree with quite a bit of his theology, but sometimes, even a stopped clock is right at least twice a day…
“Jesus and Paul were telling the people that they must live here with their identities as aliens. They must live by the rules of heaven amid the violent earthly powers. And to claim that one’s citizenship is in heaven is to say that you pledge allegiance not to any of the kingdoms of the world but to Jesus and the body of those who take on his suffering, enemy-loving posture toward the world. This is what Peter meant when he called the church ‘a holy nation, a people set apart,’ a people who are supposed to live as ‘aliens and strangers in this land.”
My struggle is seeing many of my brothers and sisters in Christ so wrapped up in politics that patriotism/nationalism almost becomes idolatry. And I admit, I struggle not being drawn into that idolatry.
Just an opinion, but I don’t see amnesty and the pros and cons of it the issue at all. I see all too often it being used as a political football. And we are often dragged into the game, and I wonder just how active we should be in the game and still maintain our Christian integrity. In all this I can’t help the feeling that I’m being used by the very people that are supposed to represent us!
