Obama Health Care — Will You Kill Me?

August 12, 2009 · 3 Comments

Will ObamaCare impact my healthcare or yours? He has already promised and guaranteed that I will personally receive less care and what medical care that will be available will be more expensive or maybe none available.

My wife and I are on the Medicare Advantage program, costing us about $200 premium per month, after paying compulsory Government Medicare insurance premiums for 40 years by payroll tax deductions.  Medicare Advantage is the only government plan that operates on the private sector model. My Insurance company contracts with Medicare Advantage at a certain cost per patient, then contracts with doctors for payment for services. IT WORKS and we get some of the best care available. My health is poor, requiring more services and my wife’s health is great — requiring very little. That is the risk of private Insurance companies… win with some, lose on others.

Excerpted from Cato At Liberty.org

On This Week with George Stephanopolous, president-elect Barack Obama proposed eliminating the ENTIRE Medicare Advantage program

Obama said “We’ve got to eliminate programs that don’t work, and I’ll give you an example in the health care area. We are spending a lot of money subsidizing the insurance companies around something called Medicare Advantage, a program that gives them subsidies to accept Medicare recipients but doesn’t necessarily make people on Medicare healthier.”

TO Mr. Barack Hussein Obama:

Let me tell you, I am healthier because of the care I receive from my superior doctors under my Medicare Advantage insurance plan. Kill that plan and you will very likely be responsible for killing me.

But after all, I am expendable, just a Throw Away — since I am 80 years old and a Conservative Christian!! You will probably be happy with less folks like me around because the longer I live, the more time I have to share my Savior Jesus Christ and warn against anti-Christian Socialists like you. I guess I am now on your enemies List –  if I was not already, Jack Weaver

    Hello, Jack.

You’re health plan might be terminated by ObamaCare?

    Outrage!

I know several with Medicare Advantage, and they love the plan. But, of course, “it costs too much” to keep the elderly and the disabled alive.

Somehow, I can’t imagine that Michael J. Fox, clearly permanently disabled, will lose his plan. He’s a Dem, of course.

Jack, if you should lose your policy, check to see if you have docs in your area that don’t accept any health insurance. We have one such doc here in Northern Virginia, and he’s outstanding. Still, the bills pile up when one has to see a specialist.

    AOW,

    Thanks for dropping in.

As a Believer in Christ, The Lord is my Shield and Buckler. He controls my future, not the BO man.

    2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

If BO kills the body, my soul will be with the Lord!! No doctors needed then!!

    In Jesus Christ eternally,

    ExP(Jack)

$100 per month premium for a Medicare Advantage plan? Is it “private-fee-for-service” or HMO? Here in Arizona, most people pay $0 for their HMO Medicare Advantage plans. These plans were designed to save Medicare money because they got 95% of the average cost per Medicare beneficiary.

If your health is poor and your Medicare Advantage plan is cancelled, you will have guaranteed issue for a Medicare Supplement, meaning no health questions asked.

Medicare plus a supplement is the best coverage. I’m an insurance agent and I make more money signing people up for Medicare Advantage – but truthfully, Medicare Advantage has problems when your health deteriorates. At some point you can see that it is better to pay for a Medicare Supplement – even at $200 per month because you then have no co-payments for ANY care you get. With Medicare Advantage you have co-payments for everything- and they add up if you are in poor health.

And don’t get cancer if you have a Medicare Advantage plan – your co-pay is 20%.

If you have a chance to consider Medicare Supplements (offered by private insurance companies), look for the lowest premium. ALL PLANS are the same- only the premium is different. Pick the lowest priced plan.
