As of today. Pastors are under threat of legal action and jail for preaching the Bible. The House of Representatives passed H.R. 1913 eliminating the rights of Bible Believing Pastors and Christians to preach the Bible
From World Net Daily 4/20/09:
Members of the U.S. House today approved a plan to create a federal “hate crimes” plan that will provide special protections to homosexuals and others with alternative sexual choices, but leave Christian ministers and pastors open to prosecution should their teachings be linked to any subsequent offense, by anyone, against a “gay.”
The vote was 249-175, and came despite intense Republican opposition to the creation of the privileged class.
[...]
Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, said, “The Anti-Christian Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives has acted today to lay the legal foundation and framework to investigate, prosecute and persecute pastors, youth pastors, Bible teachers, and anyone else whose Bible speech and thought is based upon and reflects the truths found in the Bible.
Christians beware. The Liberals are out to close down and eliminate our belief system under threat of law!

Sounds like a good Bill, to me.
If I decided to teach kids that all Christians were unnatural (which I believe them to be) and hypocritical idiots, i’m sure the Christian Right would have something to say.
If you think you get your moral authority from a 2000 year old war manual, then the rest of us should have a Hate Crimes Bill to get our moral authority from.

“FutileDemocracy”
Normally I would delete such vile garbage but this time I will leave it to show my readers just how despicable the radical left can be.
You apparently have no morals if you expect the “Hate Crimes” bill to give you “Moral Authority.”
My prayer is that you will believe that Holy Bible you so detest — and trust Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. That way, on that inevitable day when you meet the Author of that “War Manual,” it will be on friendly terms rather than as His adversary.

Hey, Futile, excellent name! You should be aware that kids are already being taught that Bible-believing Christians are ‘unnatural’ (I agree–we’re supernatural) and that the Bible is a work of fiction and ‘hate.’ This is daily fare for young minds in the government school system, extending into secondary institutions (there’s a word for you!) and blared by the media in every paragraph or monologue, disguised as ‘news’ and ’something that everyone knows.’
We have not passed any laws suppressing your right to think and say out loud in public what you think. You are allowed to hate and despise Christians all you wish. We won’t try to silence you. We won’t send you to prison. We won’t even come after you to saw your head off with a dull knife. No, on the contrary.
Here’s a question, you brave, brave Freethinker, you. Been to any hard-line Islamic sites to tell them what you think of their book?
No? Didn’t think so. Hypocrite.
Brother Jack, these types of Christ-haters are more and more prevalent. The darkness is growing apace, and we must be at work, shining the Light of Truth in a world that prefers to be blind. God bless you, glad you’re back.
expreacherman // April 30, 2009 at 8:26 pm
Lynda,
Glad to be back.. and I pray it will be for a while — ’til the Rapture.
Well said. You nailed it,,, Futile is just that… futile. Pray for him.,
The darkness IS growing — but we have the Light. Let us be faithful and proclaim the Light, salvation in Jesus Christ, at every opportunity. He is the only Hope for a lost world.

If this bill is taken to the extreme then you can be sure that Obama’s former pastor Jeremiah Wright will get diplomatic immunity for his racism and hate speech. I guess you can say “God **** America” that is nowhere stated in the Bible but not “God [condemns (Ed)] homosexuality” that is everywhere stated in the Bible.
This actually does not surprise me. Obama claimed to be a Christian but bows to a Saudi King. He has mocked the Bible in the past so such a bill is not shocking. Who knows, pastors one day will probably be given a list of approved topics that they only can preach about.
I don’t know about you guys but it makes me want to shout God’s word out all the more.

Thanks Dave,
When we shout it should be the saving Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ alone.

To Futile Democracy: If you think the Bible is a 2000 year old “war manuel,” then you have obviously not read it, and appearently know very little about it. “Love you enemy, bless those who curse you, pray for those who despitefully use you;” I don’t think these words can be found in any war manuel anywhere.
To ExPreacherman and others: I don’t think this bill represents a threat to those preachers and churches that faithfully represent the message fo the Bible. Do you know Fred Phelps? He’s the guy you see sometimes carrying signs at military funerals that say things like “God hates fags.” He preaches a message of hate in the name of Christianity. It makes all Christians look bad to the people that don’t know any better. This bill might do REAL Christians some good.
expreacherman // May 6, 2009 at 6:51 pm
Clark,
Welcome back.. and thanks for commenting.
You said “This bill might do REAL Christians some good.”
Not likely if a Pastor tries to preach the whole counsel of God.
1) Which would include, first of all, that there is Salvation in NO other than Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That is considered hate speech by those who disagree or believe in a works sakvation.
2) The sin of homosexuality, sodomy and bestiality are condemned in the Bible.
3) Marriage is between one woman and one man as taught in the Scriptures. We can witness what the homosexuals and Left have done to poor Carrie Prejean , Miss California, when she spoke out about her belief about marriage. They are destroying her.
4) Pedophilia is excused from any liability in this law.
I am afraid no good can come from an unnecessary, biased and probably unconstitutional law.

They don’t care if it’s ‘unconstitutional’, my brothers and sisters. Their aim is to deconstruct the U.S., throwing out the antiquated, God-centered Constitution. After all, the STATE is god for these people. They hate Christ, because their master hates Christ. Of course, they will hate us, too. The servant is not greater than the Master! Prepare for what’s coming, as we don’t know how bad it will get (yes, “even” here in the previously blessed U.S.) before it’s all over. Persecutions are coming. Fill up with the Word, be filled continually with the Spirit, and gird your loins, True Church! And regardless of what you see and hear, remember that He is with you always. Look up, Remnant of the Lord, for our redemption is drawing nigh! Maranatha!

Well, I think the Bill is wrong.
Face it, we are in the last days, there are no if’s, and’s, or what’s about it.
Why on Earth Obama was elected is beyond me, but more & more I think he’s ushering in the last days. The United States has become the New Babylon, what can we do?
Well, those who don’t believe in God after Obama is finished, they will.
The man is dangerous and I can’t stomach to look at him.

Obama was elected because so many ignorant people voted for him — and too many Christians sat on their hands.
Look for many more stifling “wrong” bills from this congress and President.

I still live in a country (U.S.) that (mostly) allows me to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share that good news publicly. Bills like this make me wonder just how much longer we Christians have until we’re labeled “domestic terrorists” for evangelism.
At any rate, we must keep the faith and keep sharing the Good News of Christ with the world, regardless of personal cost.

Blessed brethren,
If you could also spare your petitions for the UK. This home land of mine is also on an anti-Christ mission. I completely agree with all that has been said by our faithful and elect. I to have realised that before the coming of our blessed Lord there MUST be the ‘falling away’ and the man of sin will be revealed. I don’t know if your president is it but we must not put our heads in the sand the Lord Jesus said ‘Watch’ Praise God He is coming and we will ever be with the Lord. The wicked and the sexually immoral will continue until the end, pray our loving Heavenly Father will save some for His glory and those who reject His offer of love (the Cross of Christ) they will have an eternity in the lake of fire to dwell on their ungodly and futile comments.

Quizout // May 17, 2009 at 10:58 pm
yes, to read and study the Bible is not politically correct. It may not be legal someday.
In Bible quizzing, our church youth hide the Word of God in their hearts, so it is with them always, even if their paper copy is taken away.
Bible quizzing makes learning God’s word fun, and sometimes people do not favor it for this reason. But I think helping teenagers in church youth groups to memorize God’s word is the main goal, and nothing is wrong with having fun while you’re at it.
expreacherman // May 18, 2009 at 10:14 am
Quizout,
Your concept and zeal are admirable but you say nothing in your ad-comment about your faith, doctrine or Biblical position.
You claim to be a “Seeker” but you do not say what or whom you seek. Are you Pentecostal, Seventh Day Adventist, MacArthur or Rick Warren or Dan Kimball follower, Mystic, Roman Catholic, Emergent, Contemplative, Mormon, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Jehovah’s Witness or what? We have no idea. Why should we subject our precious children to a teaching where we know not the doctrine being taught.
You web site tells a person nothing about your faith or discernment so I have deleted it until I know more about exactly what you believe and teach..

These men were preparing to commit “hate crimes”… but that will never be mentioned.
New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said he believed the defendants knew each other from their time behind bars. Relatives said Payen, David Williams and Onta (pronounced ON-tay) Williams were introduced to Islam in prison – a phenomenon present in prisons around the country in recent years.
“The Onta I know wouldn’t do something like this, but the new Onta, yeah,” said Richard Williams, an uncle. “He wasn’t raised this way. All this happened when he became a Muslim in prison.”
Lynda // May 21, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Every crime is a “hate crime”, because you do not commit crimes in love. All speech like that of these men is true “hate speech,” because they say flat out that they HATE the U.S. and HATE Jews.
Unlike Christians, Islamists are a protected group under the law. Their book is protected against defamation, unlike the Bible. Their religion is an ideology and a political system that advocates violence and murder, unlike Christianity: but Christianity is under attack, while Islam is protected.
Woe unto those who call evil good, and good evil!

Difference in teaching and preaching // May 22, 2009 at 6:58 pm
There is a difference in the TEACHING of the Bible and Preaching one’s own convictions.
The Bible teaches (as should Preachers, et el) us that the greatest of all is Love. It also teaches us to not judge lest we be judged.
I have heard a lot of “so-called” Christians talk down on people and judge people to the point I have almost completely stopped going to church. If we teach each other Gods greatest commandment: Love, then there is no room to judge. There is only ONE Judge and it is spelled: GOD, not YOU!
So I say, no matter whether one approves, likes, dislikes, etceteras; what another person/s life style is, we should leave the judgment to God and worry about our own heart. It’s time to look in the mirror folks. Just Love one another and pray for all brothers and sisters and their souls.
expreacherman // May 23, 2009 at 9:22 am
Difference,
Thanks for your note..
The Love of which you speak is best illustrated in
1 John 4:10
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation [substitute] for our sins.”
That message seems to be lost. If we do not make that Love perfectly clear — or if we tolerate another message that is not the Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ alone (without works), we do not “love” our neighbor — we are simply content to see them go into a lost eternity without trusting in Jesus Christ.
Believers are to judge and discern the truth. I fear you may be the victim of bad doctrine… and have been deceived. We MUST have discernment about God’s Word.
Too many “Christians” have been deceived and are:
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge [discernment] of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:7

Obama’s days are numbered. The liberals have zero time left. If it is not a nuclear weapon that wipes out half the USA then it may be a series of earthquakes or the impact of an asteroid. “Look up and left up your heads for your redemption draweth night.” The liberals are not capable of reading the signs of the times. They haven’t a clue about the signs of the times. That is why they will not be ready for the return of Jesus Christ and will be left behind to suffer the horrors of the Tribulation. All this name calling and hate and scapegoating and blameshifting coming from the liberals is motivated by fear. They know in their hearts they are wrong, and they are terrified of what is coming . . .

Thanks Bob,
Believers in Christ know the Lord will come — and we pray soon,
Yet we are told:
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.:” Matthew 25:13
Times are ripe — looks like it could be any day, any hour…

As a Christian I believe that this federal Hate Crimes bill is long overdue. Christians need to beware of false preachers that spur feelings or racism, hate and judgment between people based on false interpretations of the Bible. The Bible actually warns against these preachers.
expreacherman // May 29, 2009 at 8:47 am
Elizabeth,
Thanks for dropping by.
You know we already have laws for crimes.. if this bill becomes law, one could be punished for the misunderstanding of a thought or statement.
A preacher could be prosecuted on the basis of reading through the book of Leviticus.
This bill is a terrible idea but one that Obama has promised his left wing kook base. It gives special legal protections for pedophiles and those with an array of other sexual proclivities.
http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=99486
This bill eliminates our First Amendment right to freely preach from the Bible.

Fay,
Thanks for dropping by and taking time to comment.
God created people and animals.. People with minds and choices, animals with basically a survival instinct and only minimal choices – eat, sleep, etc.
God loves His creation and gives man a choice to trust Christ as Savior — and we believe He will take care of His animals as He sees fit. The Bible does not speak specifically to that issue so we do not speculate upon it.

I am agnostic, but I am no less of a person than you are, just because you are christians. My best friend is a christian and he is gay. But that dosen’t mean he’s going to burn in hell.
I am straight, but I couldn’t agree more with Obama signing this Hate bill. Its a civil rights issue. Personally, I find the Christain disliking for homosexuals to be quite hypocritical since God wants us to love and accept eachother the way we are.
“one nation, under god, indivisible, with liberty and justice FOR ALL”
this includes homosexuals, like it or not. they are people who are exactly the same as you and me. and they deserve the same rights.

this infuriates me. homosexuals are people too. you think you’re just so much of a person just because you are straight? I am straight, but I am no better or worse than a gay person, or any other person.
this bill is a sign of america becoming closer to equality. sure, there will unfortunately still be racism and prejudice people like yourselves, but this bill shows we can move one step closer to living as one.

Your supposed God teaches all to love thy neighbor. He put us all supposedly on this Earth for a purpose. Whether you are black , green, red, white , cisgendered, gay, lesbian, bi, transgendered. If you holier than thous can’t get over that than you have some serious issues. Judge ye not, lest you be judged. Your popularity among the general population is getting smaller and smaller. Your flock is diminishing due to your preachings of ignorance.
