Notes From A Retired Preacher

EXPELLED – by Stein

April 13, 2008 · 16 Comments

Secularists have the upper hand in our educational system (all branches) — pushing their pet secularist theory of Darwinism and fighting any mere mention of an Intelligent Designer.

Ben Stein has an answer — with his brilliant new movie, “EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed.”

I have only seen this short trailer — but it is powerful in support of the Intelligent Design of our universe. Check it out. I rarely if ever recommend any movie — but this may be something to reinforce your Biblical Creationist view. The trailer alone will help.

Nanc, in her own words:

ben stein loves questions. more importantly, ben stein wants answers! much like the rest of us

[...]

ben goes into the whys and wherefores as to WHY people are ignoring the obvious – we have been intelligently designed!

[...]

there are interviews with scientists who’ve gone against the grain of the secular “giants” in their statements that there MAY be a creator – OH MY!

    THANK YOU EXP!

i’ve fixed my blog to allow all comments – didn’t know it was not allowing comments.

i believe we are at the point in time where we need to be bold in the Lord – regardless of who may disagree.

    unafraid and unabashed!

    thankx for the hattip.

    Yep, Nanc…

We must be BOLD — but Secret Service Christians have been silent so long that …hmmmm — well draw your own conclusion.

I read your Blog with every new post — you are on my Bloglines feed..

    Thanks for your BOLDness..

    well, thank you again!

i cannot wait to see this movie friday evening as we’re all going in different directions on saturday. it’s always busy with teens in the house – mostly carpooling.

    Nanc,

If the movie is as informative as the trailer, it will be great.

Ah, yess — I remember what teens are — many moons ago. All of my teens today are grand-teens and live a thousand miles away. Our GreatGrand-Teeny is less than a year old… and she is a beauty.

We will be going to see this movie right away–Monday, as a matter of fact, even though we will have to travel a ways to get to it. We’ve been telling everyone to go see it! I just bought a book, by a secular (non-religious) Jew, called The Devil’s Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions. Even people without discernible faith are starting to question the premise that science disproves God. This is hopeful, as it provides a chink in the armor to try to reach the lost before it is too late. I’m looking up! How about you? :-)

I wrote a piece on “Expelled” a couple of weeks ago, and that post has been viewed more times than anything on my site. A lot of the response was from atheist/agnostics who gave me grief over Intelligent Design not being real science, or being critical of the way Stein does documentary. I too look forward to seeing the movie, and hope it opens doors to share the gospel with people asking questions. Expect a lot of feedback on this topic.

    Lynda and Clark,

One more tool we can use to share Christ.

It is amazing — that Stein is not a Christian — but sees the creation for what it is… The product of an intelligent Creator.

It would be great if Stein would believe that this Creator loves him and the whole world and came to earth, died for all of us, rose from the grave and proclaims — “whosoever believes in Me HAS everlasting life,”

  • expreacherman // April 16, 2008 at 9:03 am

    Z,

We can all pray that it will open the eyes of unbelievers and encourage believers.

Bro. Jack, you said, “It would be great if Stein would believe that this Creator loves him and the whole world and came to earth, died for all of us, rose from the grave and proclaims — “whosoever believes in Me HAS everlasting life,”
    Amen & Amen! God Bless.

    Thanks Bro. David,

God’s salvation in Jesus is available to all — “To the Jew first and then the Gentile.”

Mathematicians who try to publish formulas which do not work in the field of Mathematics will find the same result. Otherwise, journals from every field would be full of useless nonsense, be it from the field of physics, chemistry, geology, math, history, geography, economics, language to name but a few. ID isn’t science, it’s a repackaging of creationism that’s trying to be sold as science. You can believe that France is in Asia, and that is your right to believe, and if you argue it well, a few others may believe you. How about if the “Designer” contracted the job out to a retarded underling?

Are there really so many people here who don’t see how vile, malicious, and dishonest Expelled is? It didn’t fool many movie critics, not even the Christian ones:

“There are so many topics picked up, misrepresented and abandoned unresolved by “Expelled” that it is impossible to deal with them all. But they are typical of the intellectual dishonesty of the creationist-Intelligent Design cabal that wants to have this bankrupt hypothesis taught in the public schools.” – Colorado Confidential

    Howard,

Your excessive number of left-wing, liberal quotes proved nothing — no substance. I left the first and last just to show you how fair I am and how ridiculous your reasoning is..

    Excessive rhetoric will be edited.

Howard, you failed to fill your page with Conservative Christians… the liberal “Christians” you quoted do not count here.

Excessive? Did not your post in the “Baylor rejects Intelligent Design” of Dan Graves’ list of Scientists of Faith appear a trifle excessive? It either didn’t. Or it did BUT A.) As blog master you are above such stipulations, or B.) All long winded entries that are of the same mind as yours (the faithful) are immune to censorship or editing.

Further, does your offering of Graves’ list of faithful scientists offer any substance? Or, just as you have accused Howard, does it betray how “ridiculous your reasoning is…” ?
