INDEPENDENCE DAY 2008

July 2, 2008 · 6 Comments

Freedom

“The Declaration of Independence… [is the] declaratory charter of our rights, and the rights of man.” —Thomas Jefferson

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2008

The Necessary Holiday

If our nation’s Founders could visit us on this, our 232nd Independence Day, what would they make of us? What would they declare of us?

A hint can be discerned in a letter from John Adams to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776, as the Declaration of Independence had just been approved. “It ought to be commemorated,” said the man who would become our second president, “as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Day’s Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.”

Americans have maintained the “Pomp and Parade” for more than two centuries now, and the “Bonfires and Illuminations” are commonplace, but how often do we recognize Independence Day as “the Day of Deliverance?” How often do we honor it with “solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty”? How often do we contemplate the cost of our freedom, “the Toil and Blood and Treasure?”

Barack Obama Talks Religion

June 8, 2008 · 9 Comments

For those of you who may have a thought that Barack Obama is a knowledgeable, Bible believing, spiritual Christian as he professes to be, this interview will open your eyes.

Here are some great excerpts from an interview with Barack Obama about his “faith.”

My comments are in dark blue BOLD and in order to emphasize what I think are his pertinent comments he will be in Red BOLD

=====================

Barack Obama The 2004 “God Factor” Interview Transcript 30 APRIL 2008

Chicago-Sun Time religion columnist Cathleen Falsani (”God Girl”) — GG

Interview was at 330 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004,

[...]

OBAMA

So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place,

And the Bible says

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

[...]

OBAMA So that, one of the churches …. that I became involved in was Trinity United Church of Christ. And the pastor there, Jeremiah Wright, became a good friend. So I joined that church and committed myself to Christ in that church.

GG Did you actually go up for an altar call?

OBAMA Yes. Absolutely.

[...]

OBAMA And I’m not somebody who is always comfortable with language that implies I’ve got a monopoly on the [religious] truth, …

I’m a big believer in tolerance. I think that religion at it’s best comes with a big dose of doubt. I’m suspicious of too much certainty in the pursuit of understanding just because I think people are limited in their understanding.

GG  Do you still attend Trinity?

OBAMA Yep. Every week. 11 oclock service.

[...]

GG  Do you have people in your life that you look to for guidance?

OBAMA Well, my pastor [Jeremiah Wright] is certainly someone who I have an enormous amount of respect for.

I have a number of friends who are ministers. Reverend Meeks is a close friend and colleague of mine in the state Senate. Father Michael Pfleger is a dear friend, and somebody I interact with closely.

GG  Those two will keep you on your toes.

OBAMA And theyr’e [sic] good friends.

[...]

[Obama - appreciates The Constitution ] — its resolve to prevent disruptive strains of [in context -- religious] fundamentalism from taking root in this country.

[...]

OBAMA …… we are all children of God.

And the Bible says

Galatians 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

OBAMA I think that the difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and prostelytize.

And the Bible says

Mark 16:15 And He [Christ] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

OBAMA There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they’re going to hell.

GG  You don’t believe that?

OBAMA I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell.

And the Bible says

John 3:18 He that believeth on Him [Jesus] is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God [Jesus].

My comment — Not God’s fault but man’s

[...]

OBAMA Part of the reason I think it’s always difficult for public figures to talk about this is that the nature of politics is that you want to have everybody like you and project the best possible traits onto you. Oftentimes that’s by being as vague as possible, or appealing to the lowest common denominators. The more specific and detailed you are on issues as personal and fundamental as your faith, the more potentially dangerous it is.

GG [asking OBAMA about his belief in Heaven] A place spiritually you go to after you die?

OBAMA What I believe in is that if I live my life as well as I can, that I will be rewarded.

And the Bible says

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, ….

OBAMA I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die.

And the Bible says, for a believer in Christ:

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

America’s Constitutiuon - Christian?

May 25, 2008 · 8 Comments

Some may have swallowed the Liberal propaganda and not be aware that this country was actually founded on the principles of the Bible, Christianity and the moral principles in God’s Word.
Here is an excellent treatise — just a tad long – but well worth the read for all Patriots in America. It shows, without doubt, that a large number of our Founding Fathers indeed realized the importance of faith and reliance upon the God of the Universe.
May God again bless our beloved America — and may we retain the right to continue the freedom of our faith and the ability to share Christ.

**************

Remembering Our Foundations

By Virginia Armstrong, Ph.D., National Chairman - Eagle Forum

As America remembers those who have offered the ultimate sacrifice for all of us, we would do well to remind ourselves of the truths upon which our nation was founded-truths for which millions of Americans have suffered or died. No enemy has been more vicious in undermining these truths, our foundations, than runaway Humanist/Reconstructionist judges, made safe from harm in their cozy courtrooms by our troops fighting for the very truths Reconstructionists oppose. Here is a brief summary of three such truths as expressed by some of America’s Founders and other leaders.

1. A just and free society requires a Christian foundation.

“I verily believe that Christianity is necessary to support a civil society and shall ever attend to its institutions and acknowledge its precepts as the pure and natural sources of private and social happiness.” — Joseph Story (U. S. Supreme Court Justice and Harvard Law Professor)

“I . . . recommend a general and public return of praise and thanksgiving to Him from whose goodness these blessings descend. The most effectual means of securing the continuance of our civil and religious liberties is always to remember with reverence and gratitude the source from which they flow.” — John Jay (America’s first Chief Justice)

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the ability of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity to each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.” — James Madison

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” — Benjamin Franklin

2. The U. S. Constitution is based upon a Christian foundation.

“The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and his apostles, which enjoins humility, piety, and benevolence; which acknowledges in every person a brother or a sister, and a citizen with equal rights. This is genuine Christianity, and to this we owe our free constitutions of government.” — Noah Webster

“The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were…the general principles of Christianity . . . . Now I will avow that I then believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.” — John Adams

America was born a Christian nation for the purpose of exemplifying to the nations of the world the principles of righteousness found in the Word of God.” — Woodrow Wilson

“The more profoundly we student his wonderful Book [the Bible], the better citizens we will become, and the higher will be our destiny as a nation.” — William McKinley

3. The Constitution and its Christian foundations require a
limited government, including a restrained judiciary.

“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” — James Madison in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, 1788

“The Constitution is a written instrument. As such its meaning does not alter. That which it meant when adopted it means now . . . ‘Any other rule of construction would abrogate the judicial character of this court, and make it the mere reflex of the popular opinion or passion of the day.’” — U.S. Supreme Court in South Carolina v. U.S., 1905

“A frequent recurrence to the fundamental principles of the constitution . . . [is] absolutely necessary to preserve the advantages of liberty, and to maintain a free government. . . . The people . . . have a right to require of their lawgivers and magistrates, an exact and constant observance of them.” — Massachusetts Constitution, 1780

Liberty is secured, sir, by the limitation of its [the government's] powers, which are clearly and unequivocally defined.” — Francis Corbin in the Virginia Ratification Convention, 1788

Conclusion

These truths clearly and conclusively refute contemporary Reconstructionist judges’ loud and impassioned proclamations that we must “separate church and state” and that we “cannot legislate morality.” The conclusion of the matter was well stated in the mid-Twentieth Century by a high-ranking British official, Alfred Lord Denning. Describing the plight of contemporary law in both England and America, Denning declared:

What does it all come to? Surely this, that if we seek truth and justice, we cannot find it by argument and debate, nor by reading and thinking, but only by the maintenance of true religion and virtue. Religion concerns the spirit in man whereby he is able to recognize what is truth and what is justice, whereas law is only the application, however imperfectly, of truth and justice in our everyday affairs. If religion perishes in the land, truth and justice will also. We have already strayed too far from the faith of our fathers. Let us return to it, for it is the only thing that can save us. Kennedy, Cancer and Eternity

May 20, 2008 · 14 Comments

It was announced today that the Liberal Lion of the Kennedy clan, Senator Edward (Teddy) Kennedy, is suffering from a glioma (malignant brain tumor).

My Sweet Wife’s first husband Richard suffered from a similar ailment, glioblastoma multiforme.

Because Richard had trusted Christ alone as his Savior. He was absolutely guaranteed of going to Heaven as the result of that decision. He, like his Dad before him, chose not to undergo the rigors of surgery or radiation treatment but opted for palliative care only. Today, Richard is resting in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ!

We have no way of knowing how long Kennedy will live — but we can pray one prayer for him and his family.

We pray that some way, someone who is a solid Bible believing, born again Christian can break though the dark, golden and foreboding curtain of Roman Catholicism to present the simple message of salvation to Kennedy and his family — before it is too late. Because when one dies without trusting Christ alone as Savior, it is TOO LATE. There is no second chance to believe after death.

Jesus Christ was crucified, died, was buried and rose from the grave for the sins of Teddy Kennedy, just as He did for you, me and the whole world. However it avails nothing for Kennedy or any of us until we make that simple decision to trust Jesus alone as our Savior. (Not the church, not our good works, not Mary, not the Pope nor a priest of any religion, Catholic or otherwise). ONLY Jesus alone!

Let us pray that prayer for Kennedy and his whole family.

And, dear reader, I pray the same for you if you are unsure of your eternity in Heaven.

Carter: Hamas Will Recognize Israel

May 2, 2008 · 11 Comments

Hamas Will Recognize Israel????

I haven’t seen much media coverage on this one.

Once again Jimmah Carter has proven himself to be one playing the fool in international affairs. He is a shill for the terrorists and the liberal left. He is violating his supposed Christian faith in face of all evidence from the terrorists that they wish all Christians and Jews to be either dead or in total submission to Islamic Sharia Law.

[Excerpts from FrontPageMagazine.com]

In what will assuredly be seen as one of the greater gaffes of his career, former president Jimmy Carter dramatically reassured a packed crowd of diplomats and reporters this week that Hamas would now recognize the Jewish State.

Hamas, apparently, is now ready to live at peace with Israel if a peace agreement is signed and ratified by the Palestinians, which would assure that the Palestinian state would be established in the areas taken by Israel in the 1967 war. Carter made his statement at the Israel Council of Foreign Relations at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on Monday, following his extensive visits with Hamas terror leaders in Gaza, Egypt and Syria.

It didn’t take long for Hamas to clarify their intentions. Two hours after Carter’s speech was broadcast on Israel radio, Hamas leader Khaled Maschal, who had held extensive meetings with Carter in Damascus, denied that any such assurance had been made.

Maschal, who had overseen Carter’s talks with other Hamas leaders in Egypt and in Gaza, once again reaffirmed the Hamas commitment to liquidate the Jewish state. Not for the first time, the ex-president was left looking like a dupe of the terrorists.

Excerpts from FrontPageMagazine Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Jimmah sees himself as a savior of some sort– when in reality he becomes a tool of the devil.

We have heard no comment from Jimmah. Wonder if Jimmah has applied for membership in Obama and Jerimiah Wright’s church?

Christians and Jews, beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Baylor Rejects Intelligent Design

April 23, 2008 · 27 Comments

Baylor University, formerly a great Baptist university in Texas has unveiled their true colors. They have succumbed to the religion of Darwinism by rejecting the concept of Intelligent Design (that the universe in which we live was created by a greater Intelligence). Biblical Christians reject the ridiculous theory of Darwinism and evolution.
Below is a quote from The Berean Call which shows the depths to which Baylor has sunk.

We’re saddened to report on a recent administrative action at Baylor University (a Baptist school) in Texas, where administrators ordered a professor’s personal website be shut down because of “anonymous concerns” that the site supported ideas associated with the intelligent design movement (IDM).
Baylor’s record on dealing with academic freedom, particularly as it concerns intelligent design the IDM, is now all the more odious. In 2000, Baylor removed intelligent design theorist William Dembski, now at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, because Dembski “refus[ed] to rescind a statement supporting Intelligent Design as a legitimate form of academic inquiry.”
The professor under fire this time is Robert Marks, distinguished professor of electrical and computer engineering, who launched a website called the “Evolutionary Informatics Lab” in June to study whether natural selection can use chance mutations to generate new information. “Marks’ conclusions, as explained on the website, placed limits on the scope of Darwinism and offered scientific support for Intelligent Design,” explains Baptist Press.
The debate, surprisingly, does not concern the validity of Marks’ research, but rather “Baylor’s policies and procedures of approving centers, institutes, products using the university’s name,” according to Lori Fogleman, director of media communications at Baylor. In July, after giving an interview to the IDM-promoting Discovery Institute, Marks was asked by Baylor’s engineering school dean to remove the website. In response, Marks requested a meeting for discussion, but just shy of a week before the scheduled meeting, all references to the Evolutionary Informatics Lab on Marks’ website were forcibly removed.
Should we be surprised? Dembski, the previous victim, offers a fairly chilling perspective on academic freedom when it comes to disagreement with Darwin:
“You have to understand, in the current academic climate, Intelligent Design is like leprosy or heresy in times past. To be tagged as an ID supporter is to become an academic pariah, and this holds even at so-called Christian institutions that place a premium on respectability at the expense of truth and the offense of the Gospel.”

Pray for the students and administration at Baylor.

EXPELLED - by Stein

April 13, 2008 · 12 Comments

Secularists have the upper hand in our educational system (all branches) — pushing their pet secularist theory of Darwinism and fighting any mere mention of an Intelligent Designer.

Ben Stein has an answer — with his brilliant new movie, “EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed.”

I have only seen this short trailer — but it is powerful in support of the Intelligent Design of our universe. Check it out. I rarely if ever recommend any movie — but this may be something to reinforce your Biblical Creationist view. The trailer alone will help.

Oprah’s Church - Obama Mentor?

April 6, 2008 · 14 Comments

Video of Oprah’s church. We have seen MSM TV reports about her enormous rallies endorsing Obama.

Now, this video is something all believers should see. You will understand the blasphemy that is being propagated by Oprah on TV and through her many other types of media.

Obama’s fundraiser, promoter, advisor and mentor — Oprah!

UPDATE: We regret to  say that we must withdraw our recommendation of the book. We have learned that, while the book is basically factual in content, it has been claimed by Lighthouse Trails Research that it contains many passages which have been plagiarized from others — and done so without credit.

Pray for our country and for the discernment of believers..

Obama’s View

March 31, 2008 · 10 Comments

Since we write about politics as it impacts our faith, church and apostasy, this post will continue about Obama’s church and preacher.

On the liberal program, The View, Barack Obama said this about his preacher, Jeremiah Wright:

“Had the reverend [Wright] not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying at the church.”

To my knowledge, Wright has never publicly apologized nor acknowledged to America or Christians that his obnoxious, anti-Christian, racist, anti-American, anti-Semitic comments offended anyone.

If someone has a source for Wright’s supposed public apology, please give the source in the comments below.

Obama is using his lawyerly language to obfuscate and hide the truth of his real feelings about Wright. He loves the guy!.

Someone in the Mainstream Media must hold Obama to account for this misstatement (lie???) on the View.

Interesting Take on Obama from Col. B. Bunny.

From Death to Life and Beyond

March 21, 2008 · 5 Comments

This was originally posted in April 2006

Empty Tomb HE IS RISEN!!
Which event is the most important, (1) the death or (2) the resurrection of Jesus the Messiah? Of course there would be no resurrection of Jesus had He not been crucified… but He was crucified. But what if, after Jesus was crucified, dead and buried, He had not resurrected from the grave? There would be no salvation.. There would be no proof that Jesus is indeed God in the flesh and that is Satan’s message. We see such a lie has been touted by “liberal” theologians from the time shortly after Jesus was put to death by the Roman court.

  • Matthew 28:1-8
“In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers [guards] did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word.”
  • Luke 24:6-7
“He is not here, but is risen: remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

Great Joy” would be an understatement!! Imagine their circumstances, the Person they trusted, worshipped and followed had just been humiliated, crucified, had died and was buried. They come to the tomb expecting to complete their mourning. Then they see the tomb empty and hear the words, “He is not here: for He is risen.” HE IS RISEN! Imagine the JOY!

  • Then in Matthew 28:11-14
…some of the watch [soldiers, guards of the tomb] came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole Him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you [keep you out of trouble].”

This is amazing. The soldier guards knew Jesus had arisen from the tomb even though it was tightly sealed and this happened while they were guarding the tomb. A Roman guard who failed in his duty was liable for the death penalty thus they would move heaven and earth to see their duty was completed. So here we see the origin of the lie, perpetuated even until today, from those who deny the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For centuries books and expose’s have been written trying to disprove the Resurrection… all to no avail. HE IS RISEN!!

Often, religion tends to dwell on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus to the neglect of the resurrection. YES, the horrible crucifixion of Christ is a vital part of the Gospel of our Salvation.. But religions too often ignore or de-emphasize the fact — HE IS RISEN!

By His death, burial and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled the Messianic promise outlined in the Old Testament.

The Gospel (Good News) is not good news without the Resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is alive but Mohammed is dead, Buddha is dead, Confucius, Mary Baker Eddy, Joseph Smith, etc are all dead. Every religious leader throughout history has died. The only One to rise under His own power is Jesus the promised Messiah.

The following has been called “The Gospel in a Nutshell”:

  • 1 Corinthians 15:1-6
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, ….. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once….”

Witness after witness after witness: this is evidence of His resurrection.

Salvation by God’s Grace is understanding that we are imperfect. God calls this sin. Our sin requires a death penalty.. But God with love beyond infinity, loved us so much that He sent Jesus Christ to make that death penalty for the whole world, to the Jew first and then the Gentile, that all who would believe or trust in Jesus would have everlasting life in Heaven with Him. Jesus came and fulfilled the law and paid the death penalty we humans owe. He did that and arose from the grave just as He predicted. Now the responsibility is upon us. Do we trust Jesus alone as our Savior, our complete Savior, apart from our good works? If we do trust Jesus alone, we HAVE everlasting life, guaranteed.

  • John 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Dear friend, at this time of year when we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, perhaps you do not know for sure you have eternal life in Christ. If you are not sure, please trust or rely upon Jesus alone as your Savior to deliver you to Heaven, to give you eternal life. It is not by an organization, church or your good works, simply Jesus. I pray you will make this decision as it is the most important one you will make during your entire life on this earth.

I pray you will!!

Is Obama Wright?

March 16, 2008 · 10 Comments

I am a former Pastor. I am a Bible believing Christian. I love the Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ alone.

This settled, I take great offense at Obama’s “former” pastor of 20 years — the so called “Rev.” Jeremiah Wright and his foul, anti-Christian, anti-American rants. Wright and Obama have cuddled with this philosophy and rhetoric for years, thus what they espouse should be widely known by everyone. But the Media, in the same foul bucket with them, has refused to publish the truth. Obama has reportedly “refuted” his favorite preacher, friend and mentor, but not until he was blindsided by the truth.

Obama cannot sit in a church pew for twenty years, be a close friend of the pastor and not know what the preacher believes and preaches.

The tragic part is, despite the awful truth leaking here and there, despite the sordid reality showing its face, Barack’s swooning devotees turn a blind eye and worship him nonetheless.

Pray for our country, that we will not be further swept into this philosophy of anti-Christianity, anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism.

If we believers had been going about our business of sharing the Gospel of God’s Grace through salvation in Jesus Christ alone, this wave may have been abated.

Been Out Of It For A While

March 8, 2008 · 2 Comments

My dear readers,

We’ve had a pretty rough but rewarding last three weeks. As you may have noticed blogging ground to an abrupt halt.

I have again experienced severe chest pains and two stays in the hospital where I acquired a balloon Angioplasty and a new Cardiac stent, (making a total now of three of these little jewels).

All is well as we recover.. and we wish to thank our friends for the emails, letters and calls.

We constantly pray for opportunities to share the Gospel of our Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone. The Lord answered our prayer in abundance with these multiple hospital stays.

We continue to pray to the Lord for more opportunities, but we would request another venue if possible. But, His will first, though.

Many heard, most listened, some politely declined but a few believed and so many were encouraged by the Gospel of God’s Grace.

After indicating she would trust Christ as her Savior, a nurse said, “Why isn’t anyone preaching this so clearly.” I thanked her for the opportunity to talk to her and said, “This is why the Lord put me in here.”

Clinton, Gore, Carter — Christian Leaders ?

February 9, 2008 · 8 Comments

Those great and well known “Christian”  experts, former Presidents Jimmah Cahtah, Bill Clinton and many other Baptist leaders met in Atlanta for what was called “Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant.” Also attending were Obama, (Church of Christ) and Hillary, (United Methodist Church).[BOLD represents my emphasis and comments]

Included were …. Baptists from throughout North America and former members of the Southern Baptist Convention [who were] upset by its rightward shift. Carter was a lead organizer of the event.

“Thousands of participants prayed and held hands across a massive exhibit hall at the first session Wednesday night. Carter, a longtime Bible teacher at his Plains, Ga., church, called the three-day gathering “the most momentous event in my religious life.”

He [Carter] called animosity among Christians “a cancer metastasizing in the body of Christ.”

This is a great illustration of the lie of modern religious ecumenism which is forging the platform for the New World Order and the New World Religion of the last days.

The former president insisted the meeting was strictly religious, not political. [Even though] It is being held just days before Feb. 5, when 24 states will hold presidential primaries or caucuses.

Former Vice President Al Gore and former President Bill Clinton are among the major speakers. Earlier in the day, at a separate meeting of the black Baptist groups, Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke about their presidential candidacies.

Critics have dismissed the event as little more than a Democratic rally.

We concur — except, instead of Democrat. they should say Extreme Liberal.. (Same thing).

However, they all heavily emphasize Scripture on social justice.

This is nothing more than spreading the “social gospel” — which is no gospel at all.

[...]

Carter and many other Baptists severed ties with the Southern Baptist Convention when conservatives took control of the denomination in the 1970s and 1980s, waging a bitter fight over interpreting the Bible.

Excerpts from a news article here. Thu Jan 31,2008

This ecumenical meeting of those who call themselves “Christians” never mention nor promote the main tenet of Christian Theology, The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus to pay the sin debt for every person in the world — and by putting our trust in Jesus, we have eternal life. These folks are preaching and organizing a world-wide anti-Biblical movement which dilutes the Gospel in favor of a false “do-good” religion of works/deeds. This organization of theological liberals is contrary to God’s Word!

Now, here is the Good News:

When Do We Compromise?

February 6, 2008 · 4 Comments

When do we compromise our faith, our beliefs, our principles, our morals?

 NEVER !!!!

There are organizations and people, leaders and Pastors who are trying to undermine our fundamental Bible faith.

Compromise and acceptance of error is not new. It has been around for thousands of years– in fact since the beginning and has continued until today.

God told Adam and Eve,

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17

And in direct contradiction to what God commanded, Satan (the Old Serpent) told Eve,

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” Genesis 3:4

The Nation of Israel rebelled against God’s commands to Moses and compromised by building their special idols.

Paul wrote letters to the Corinthian Church, the Galatian church and many other churches to warn against doctrinal and moral compromise. The New Testament is full of warnings against those who preach a false message. These are false prophets regurgitating false messages to be accepted by immature Christians.

If you doubt my premise, please check out these men and their movements who seek to alter or destroy our faith:

Brian McLaren——Rob Bell

Leonard Sweet——Doug Pagitt

Tony Jones———-Dan Kimball

Rick Warren——–Erwin McManus

Can it Happen Here? Muslim Over American?

January 21, 2008 · 18 Comments

Can it Happen Here? Muslim Over American?

Here is an interesting short article from The Friends of Israel Magazine, Israel My Glory. Christians and Jews should be deeply concerned, not only in Israel but in the United States of America..

Could a Muslim in our government choose his Muslim beliefs over his allegiance to our country?

It has happened in Israel! Can it happen here? We have a Muslim elected to Congress (Keith Ellison D-MN).

Dennis Prager wrote in TownHall.com that Ellison “will not take his oath of office on the Bible, but on the bible of Islam, the Koran.” Thus breaking with the tradition of our Republic since its founding.

Also, we have a person running for President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, whose “mentor” and Pastor Jeremiah Wright writes glowingly of Louis Farrakhan, Muslim extremist hater of Jews and Christians. Even though Obama has reportedly distanced himself from his Pastor’s statements, how do we know that his “mentor’s” opinion will not influence Obama’s decisions – now as a Senator – and later, potentially as President of these United States?

Americans, be very careful as we choose our next President!

Article from “Friends of Israel” Magazine, January – February, 2008:

Arab-Israeli VIP Disses Israel [emphasis mine]

ARUTZ-7—The Jewish state’s first Arab minister, Raleb Majadle, has declared that Israeli sovereignty over the Temple Mount is nonexistent and that he will always give his allegiance to Islam over Israel. The minister spoke from the Knesset podium in his official capacity as minister of science, culture, and sport.

The comment came in reply to a question regarding the Muslim Waqf’s unsupervised digging and use of heavy machinery on the Temple Mount. Asked pointedly, “Does Israeli law apply on the Temple Mount or does it not?” Majadle answered, “In my opinion, certainly not.”

When reminded he speaks for the entire government, Majadle replied, “I will say my opinion. Before l am a government minister I am first and foremost a person and a citizen and a Muslim.

Therefore, I say clearly al-Aqsa, Al-Haram al-Sharif. [as Muslims call the Temple Mount] cannot be under the authority of Israeli law,”

When reminded he had sworn allegiance to the State of Israel and its laws, Majadle declared, I hereby inform you esteemed MK [Aiyeh] Eldad, that I may be a minister for one, two, or 10 years; but I was born a Muslin.. and a Muslim I shall die. I respect Israeli law, but if there is a contradiction between the law and my deep faith as a Muslim, I announce that I will know what to choose.”

Eldad immediately wrote to the prime minister demanding Majadle be fired. In addition, he asked the attorney general to open a police investigation against him on suspicion of breach of trust.

Actions speak louder than words. How do we know that any declaration from a politician is, in fact, truth?

Our once free America is walking (almost running) quietly without a struggle down the road to submission and tyranny. Our faith is at risk.

What faith?

Could Christians vote for a President “Of Color?” YES!

January 16, 2008 · 10 Comments

Could Christians vote for a President “Of Color?” YES!

But Barack Hussein Obama? NO!

Why? Because Obama is a doctrinaire Liberal and his liberal church teaches contrary to Biblical principles. His “Mentor” and spiritual advisor, Pastor Jeremiah Wright’s church publication, The Trumpeter (PDF) last year gave the “Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award” to a man it said “truly epitomized greatness.” That man is Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan, in case you don’t know, is the leader and “prophet” of the Nation of Islam religion in the United States. This is not by any means a group friendly to Christians and Jews. In all fairness, Obama has said that he and his Pastor disagree on some issues — and this seems to be one of them. But where is the public outrage from Mr. Obama that his church publication would give such an award to Farrakhan? (Excerpts courtesy the Washington Post.)

Now for my liberal commenters who would call me racist — here is a list of Patriotic Americans who just happen to be “persons of color” whom I could wholeheartedly support, not because of their race, gender or religious affiliation but by their strong Constitutionally Conservative principles and credentials

  • Ward Connerly (Former University of California Regent)
  • Justice Clarence Thomas (Supreme Court)
  • Thomas Sowell (University Professor, Economics)
  • Dr. Walter Williams (Economist, University Professor)
  • Michelle Malkin (Conservative Author)
  • Dr. Alan Keyes (Teacher, Economist)
  • Michael S. Steele (former Lt. Gov. Maryland)
  • J. C. Watts (R. OK) Former Congressman
  • Lynn Swann, (Ran for Governor of Pennsylvania)
  • Ken Blackwell, (Ran for Governor of Ohio)

There are many more, but you get the picture, right?

Let us not consider a candidate whose church backs a radical Islamic minister who would destroy our Judeo-Christian heritage.

George Soros (Moveon.org) Backs Obama

January 7, 2008 · 5 Comments

Christians need to know who supports various Presidential candidates. Candidates don’t get financial support from those with whom they disagree!

Barack Hussein Obama professes to be a “Christian.” [See my Blog on Obama plus the comments from liberal attackers- HERE]] Obama has the personal and financial backing of many ultra-liberal big-wigs.

One of the richest of the Ultra-Liberal cabal is financier George Soros, one of the founders of Moveon.org. You remember them, don’t you? That’s the group who financed “General Betray-us” ad in the New York Times.

Here are some quotes from the New York Times about Soros and his support of Obama.

As for the U.S. 2008 presidential race, Mr. Soros [the main money founder behind ultra-liberal Moveon.org], who gave $18 million to Democratic [sic] advocacy groups seeking to defeat President Bush in 2004, said he supported Barack Obama.

———————————————–

Mr. Obama also attracted major national Democratic donors, including George Soros and members of his family, who gave a total of $60,000.

[...]

Some traditional Clinton supporters, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson, David Geffen, the Hollywood mogul, and Michael Froman, a Citigroup executive, have migrated to Mr. Obama.

The Best to You in the New Year

January 1, 2008 · 4 Comments

We pray for the best for you our Blog friends for 2008.

For my friends who have never trusted Christ as your personal Savior please do so right now.. To find out what that means, visit this link:

Click here — Find out how to be absolutely sure of Heaven.

For our friends who have trusted Jesus Christ as the only Savior, remember the fields are white unto harvest. Let us use our time wisely, making every opportunity one in which we can share our precious faith in Jesus Christ.

Philipians 1:27
Only let your conversation [behavior] be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

If the upcoming election is won (or taken) by those who would subvert our great Republic, then we who believe in Christ may find gradual persecutions for preaching the Word and sharing our faith.

Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

We pray the Lord will continue to bless each of you in every way in this critical New Year.

Christmas Concert 1964

December 23, 2007 · 10 Comments

It was December 15, 1964 when I was tricked into going to a Christmas Concert. I think my wife was complicit in the scheme to get me there. You see, I was very un-religious — in fact I was an avowed atheist.

As I sat there I enjoyed listening to the old-time Christmas hymns with which I was familiar. I heard them annually all 35 years of my life. About half way through the concert, a man began to speak about the reason for Christmas. I was furious with my friend (and my wife) who had tricked me. I did not need to be “preached to.” I very nearly bolted to the exit.

During the talk, the gentleman mentioned several Bible verses containing prophecies of the Old Testament attesting to the truth of the season.

I learned that “Christianity is not a first-century invention. It is, in fact, the fulfillment of that which, with one voice, the Hebrew prophets consistently foretold for centuries.

“There are more than 300 Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament. Why? So Israel could identify Him, when in the fullness of time God would send forth his Son (Galatians 4:4).” [Dave Hunt, The Berean Call]. These things I had never heard. One such verse that really struck me was a verse written 700 years before the birth of Christ the Messiah, directed to the Nation of Israel;

Micah 5:2

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”

I could see this was a prophecy of the coming of Jesus the Messiah, God in the flesh. This was not just “a prophecy” but an affirmation that the Messiah is Eternal in nature, no beginning and no end.

An amazing and exciting thing I heard from Scripture that night was that prophecy of Micah. There were two Bethlehems in that area, Bethlehem in Zebulun and Bethlehem Ephratah. Just to be sure no one would be confused, Micah prophesied which of the two Bethlehems would be the birthplace of The Messiah (Ephratah of Judea).

Wise men from the East came to Jerusalem looking for the King whom they knew had been born. When King Herod heard that the King of the Jews had been born he felt threatened. Thus Herod queried the chief priests and scribes of the Jews about where this King could be found. Of course these Jewish leaders knew their Scriptures (Micah) and told Herod, “Bethlehem of Judea,” which was Ephratah.

That night I heard many ancient Old Testament Jewish prophecies of the death, burial and resurrection of the coming Messiah and Savior. The fact that these were fulfilled in the Person of Jesus Christ and recorded in the New Testament convinced me of the truth of Scripture and reality of the Person of Jesus Christ.

This good news,

“…the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek [Gentile or non-Jew].” Romans 1:16

John 1:11-12

“He came unto His own [the Jews], and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name [Jesus, meaning 'Jehovah Saves']“

I am a Gentile — so I qualify.. That very night I believed what the Bible said — that Jesus the Messiah, the Savior was born, lived, and was crucified for me. Then He was buried and rose from the grave alive. I did not understand it all but I took the Lord at His word and from what I did know, I believed Jesus Christ did all that for me personally. So, that night at that Christmas Concert in 1964 I received the greatest Gift ever offered, salvation in Jesus Christ.

There were no weird feelings, no rolling on the floor, no going forward to the “altar,” etc, just a simple decision on my part — and by doing so, I was, by God’s promise, guaranteed to go to Heaven when I die and to be with Him for all eternity.

Friend, whether Jew or Gentile, if you are not absolutely sure of Heaven, please, right now, the best you know how — from what you see in Scripture, make the honest decision in your mind that you trust Jesus to be YOUR Savior. He WILL save you and give you eternal life this very moment. God loves you that much.

1 John 5:13

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God [Jesus the Savior]; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life…..”

What About Huckabee’s Christmas Ad?

December 19, 2007 · 7 Comments

What About Huckabee’s Christmas Ad?

Mike Huckabee has been accused of making a “subliminal” Christmas ad. I would dispute that accusation because the dictionary meaning of subliminal is “existing or operating below the threshold of consciousness.”

There is nothing in the ad “below the threshold of consciousness.” His message was obvious. He is a Christian and speaks of his Christian faith. So what! That is a given. That is not subliminal. He shows a Christmas tree in the background. Christmas trees are not subliminal. Some of us see a cross formed by the white bookcase in the background. So what! Whether intentional or not.. a cross is symbolic of his Christian faith. Why should this bother anyone? There is nothing sinister about being a Christian, seeing a Christmas tree or imagining a cross.

That being said and from what I see now, I will not support Mike Huckabee in the primaries.

His past positive record on various Conservative issues are to his advantage, however some of his other positions are an affront to Conservatives. In fact, many of his positions have been starkly liberal.

Examples

In Foreign Affairs, the pulp organ of the liberal Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), he wrote

“American foreign policy needs to change its tone and attitude, open up, and reach out. The Bush administration’s arrogant bunker mentality has been counterproductive at home and abroad.”

That could have been said by Hillary.

In the same liberal magazine, speaking of the United States, he wrote, still pandering to his liberal CFR readers:

“But if it [the United States] attempts to dominate others, it is despised.”

There are more. Mike should know we do not “dominate others.” We help and liberate others from tyranny when asked or when we are endangered we take action. His statements sound like that other Southern Baptist critic of the USA who ran for and won the White House, Jimmah Carter — the worst President this country has ever experienced.

I appreciate Mike’s outspoken Christianity. It does not bother me at all but I have real doubts about his political credentials. We certainly don’t want another Carter in the White House.

So who do real Conservative Christians support in the primaries? I honestly have no idea. There are no candidates anywhere on the horizon with a real “Reaganesque” history, persona or program.

Every candidate except Alan Keys has a long history of flip-flops and obfuscation. Maybe Alan?

What to do????? Maybe we should just preach the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, His death for our sins and His resurrection. As Christ said speaking of Himself, “That whosoever believeth in Him [Jesus] should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:15

UPDATE: Book at BookwormRoom has a brilliant treatise on Huckabee.

It is a must-read for Christians!!

Silencing Free Speech

December 8, 2007 · 9 Comments

The silencing of free speech is the first step in the destruction of our country. The wonderful Conservative commentator Mark Steyn is in the process of being silenced in Canada for writing a book exposing Islamic Fascism. America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, What happens in Canada usually spreads to America.. Blogger “Always On Watch” (AOW) has written an excellent piece on the attempted silencing of Mr. Steyn by the CIC, (Canadian Islamic Congress).

Can one “religion” silence any and all criticism? Yes, they are doing it all over the world!

Visit AOW’s blog. You will be shocked! Can this happen in America? It is happening on a small scale in our country. Christians and Jews are their target.
